Hippies are known for being carefree and happy-go-lucky. This lifestyle
started in the late 1960s to early 1970s during a time of upheaval in
the United States. That’s the time when more people sought a purer
lifestyle without a care in the world. This lighthearted treatment of
hippies towards life brought them towards a few experimentations to
maintain a peaceful and relaxed existence.
Since hippies focused on simplicity, their make-up was simple and basic
and even appeared to be non-existent at most times. If you want to look
cool like the hippies of the past, here is how you can get that hippie
look with the use of modern-day cosmetics.

Steps
1.
The first thing you need to do before
applying any makeup is to prepare your skin. Cleanse your skin and
gently dry it with towel. Apply toner using a cotton ball.

Apply face makeup. If you want to achieve a
more natural look, use a tinted moisturizer. Allow your skin to absorb
the moisturizer roughly 5 – 10 minutes. If you want to hide some
imperfections like blemishes and under-eye circles, apply a concealer.

Set your make up by using a face powder. By
doing so, you can be sure that you makeup can last a long time. Use a
powder brush to apply a light layer of the powder on your face. If
needed, you can apply another coating.

Next is to put on eye makeup. Since you want
to achieve a more natural look like the hippies, your eye makeup need to
be simple. Apply a flesh colored eye shadow to your eyelid. If you want
it to have more contrast, use a neutral or medium-toned brown eye shadow
to your eye’s crease. Then, use a brown eyeliner and follow up with a
coat of black-brown mascara. If you want a more natural look, use a
brown mascara to give your eyes a softer look.

Your lips should look simple as well. Apply a nude-colored lip gloss too
let your lips shine. The more natural your lips look, the better.
